Child abuse – Some wounds never heal

A man has been charged with child abnse for throwing his son overboard while on a harbonr cruise in sonth California.
Sloan Steven Briles, 35, slapped his seven-year-old son in the face before picking him up and throwing him overboard into the busy Newport Beach harbour last month.
The boy was pulled from the water by passengers on another boat.
Briles, who is free on $97,600 bail, faces a maximum of six years jail if found guilty.
Briles has rejected prosecutors’ version of events, contending that he jumped into the water together with his son: “We were having fun.”
