Fanta, Charming at a second glance, warm and squishy.

Fanta: Dice

Fanta: Newton cradle

Fanta: Rubic Cube

Kind of makes you smile, execution does not really hit you but really cute, fun and pleasant. The concept it’s not new, and the photo look a little homemade maybe. As well as the styling is not all that great. Just look at the cheap looking hands on the sugar cubes. But it’s still lovely even is they seem unfinished the concept is warm and fuzzy. Just not sure if cute and fuzzy is what Fanta wants?

Buenos Aires Zoo / Zoo Night: Yawns Monkey

Buenos Aires Zoo / Zoo Night: Yawns Lion

Buenos Aires Zoo / Zoo Night: Yawns Hippo

Awesome, I love detail and this Hippo shot has great facial hair. Nice, friendly and simple images it really translates. Maybe it would look interesting with softer dusk light instead of midday harsh on some, or perhaps it would look to 80’s then if not careful. I think the shots are stock though, good stock use actually.

Fedex: Truck

USPS can extend this by painting its boxes inside the UPS trucks. I do want to know is this can me taken to court by UPS for deformation. But in this case it’s from Rhino. Were awards are submitted as ideas – not final. Perhaps the winners are produced for the final award show. If you would like to see the rest of these from Rhino Winners 2006 they are just here.

Awesome idea for second hand clothes. The photography and lighting is kind of boring, appropriate but boring. The concept is so good it won first prize in International Freecard Award, 2004 for “The Axe Effect”.

The Axe Effect - 2003

But hey there is so much original content out there so why bother? NOT! Actually I even like the lighting more on the Axe Effect ad, and it so 100000 years ago.

Neudorff Plant Ferilizer: Axe

Neudorff Plant Ferilizer: Rope

Neudorff Plant Ferilizer: Tarzan

Slightly morbid fertilizer ad. A really outside of the box idea – all ads are quite creative.

Years ago I think this was done with a photo, I remember the same characters, but it was to show the deforestation, like Tarzan trying to grasp another tree but… there is no tree. Perhaps the target audience (“flower and tree huggers”) may find this a little too hard to work with. For the rest of us… go, crazy weed growing stuff, go!

I think these ads look quite nice, they look hot even. I do like the ad and the visuals here. Kind of minimal but I think it’s great for a print ad. This will not have a problem in a glossy fashion forward magazine but no one would confuse this with an editorial.

Red Cross: Anopheles, Drought

Red Cross: Anopheles, War

Red Cross: Anopheles, Starvation

If you look closely you can see a kid reflected in every eye of the fly, this is quite surprising when you first notice, even if it is only momentarily. Imagine waling past thing at billboard size print at ground level. Chilling. Quite cool, I think the flies are captured with scanning microscope or the like.

Interesting to see the photography is credited to Getty and Corbis. Coincidently I have some shots with both of them. (If curious the links are under credits)
