Suzuki Motorcycles, “People are more violently opposed to fur than leather because it’s safer to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs”

Suzuki Motorcycles: Kite

“Invade their airspace.”

Suzuki Motorcycles: Parachuter

Suzuki Motorcycles: Pelican

Simple and beautiful and naughty. Lovely and insightful execution. The shots look really soft somehow but still have a lot of contrast. The pelican shot just not up to the par with the other two. The bird shot is really quite boring jus there against the sky. Looks like some cheap Royalty Free Image with expensive tire tracks retouch job. The kid and the guy with parachute are fantastic and well styled and cast.

World Effie Festival: Kick

“World Effie Festival 2008. A celebration of highly effective capitalism. The premier international brand conference featuring global business leaders, thinkers and creatives. It won’t please everyone. www.worldeffiefestival.com

World Effie Festival: Bus

World Effie Festival: Terror

Are these riots a result of ‘bad capitalism’ and is that why this festival is essential? What is ‘’bad capitalism’?

World Effie Festival, to be held in Singapore next February for the creative, design and marketing people. It will focus on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns – rather than just the creative behind the copy and the visuals.

Now that this is out of the way and you actually know World Effie Festival is not some Nazi Hill Song thing, it’s quite a cool set of ads. But seriously look at the size of that copy. I read it and still have no idea what World Effie Festival is.

Cool art. Great retouch job. It is a very heavy Photoshop retouch job for an editorial looking image. But hey it’s not National Geographic.

Diesel ads have a lot to live up to.

Maybe Cannes…maybe, some are definitely weaker than another here. I absolutely love the “Stitches“ and “Money Shot”. It’s the kind of humor and social ideas I love to shoot. Its dynamic, its rich, well styled, cool stories and it precipitates to humor.

I love it, some of this is so mad LA. The color and style are quite now visually really commercial as well as quite fashion forward photography. Really warm and bight with that little bit of oppressive blue-green “I am in the office” look that was big a year ago. Fantastic direction and photography getting the movement shot, it is really jumping at you. Also really funny detail like the mad golfer.

Great ideas, great execution. With really amazing social and stoical commentary.

Really fantastic visuals, neat Photoshop work. I love it. Generally I think everyone loves ads with people on them (If you don’t count still life stuff) but this is really nice for a change. Maybe that is part of the reason. It really is lovely Photoshop work and simple but rich visuals. I mean it’s no ‘get out of hand viral’ type of thing, just looks really nice and at least somewhat original, well done.

“The particularly quiet cleaners from Siemens. The future moving in. Siemens”

Siemens vacuum cleaners: Comedian

This campaign is continuing from another great Siemens vacuum cleaners campaign with new art direction.

Same client, same agency same campaign idea, new executions. Should have quit wile ahead, better yet used the same people as previous work.

Ok, all bitching aside its quite good, just overshadowed by the previous work. It’s hard being in a giants shadow. Definitely love the Yoga shot, bright and perhaps looks a little fresher. Minimal but would work really well in really large print.

EDF (French Electricity): Save energy, Orangutan

“If you don’t preserve nature by using low-wattage bulbs, who will? Today with simple everyday actions, everyone can help preserve the environment and save power at the same time”

EDF (French Electricity): Save energy, Mongoose

Animal ideas will always work when made cute. Of course it will most likely not be prizewinning advertising. I am not sure I like the everyday feel of these locations but it does work well for the message. I suppose they did not need to use large, lush designer locations, it’s not a fashion editorial.

Its also a good concept for a TVC, I am sure the animals look more quite cute and funny when moving. Just a though this French ad has an English copy.

I think it’s really excellent, simple and original. But was coffee breath ever a problem? I thought it was more associated with stain or something like that on teeth. Lovely I like it, and I am more photo bias personally.

Ok ok, do you think these are fantastic, bold, minimal and to the point? Or perhaps lazy and not all that exiting, interesting or even why bother even the ‘spam ads in my email look cooler now’?
