Land Transport NZ and NZ Police, ouch!

Land Transport NZ and NZ Police: Bed, 3

Land Transport NZ and NZ Police: Bed, 2

Land Transport NZ and NZ Police: Bed, 1

“Sleep before you drive.”

I actually think these are really good images of quite an unpleasant concept. The concept for the whole set is quite smart too. The night under the overpass shot is especial nice looking.

Strong impact (not a pun), insightful and careful photography, it is aimed for shock value but still subtle enough. A good way to show/explain all that microsleep and tired driving thing.

Good work.

Cobra Car Alarms, Honest businessmen should be protected from the unscrupulous consumer

Cobra Car Alarms: Alphorn

Cobra Car Alarms: Cymbals

Cobra Car Alarms: Drum

So that’s the benefit? The loudest most obnoxious alarm? I these are not bad, and look quite good in that Sin City way but somehow after looking at these graphics for sometime the everything-else-to-black-and-white-in-background is kind of cheapens the still shots.

One thing I like is the thieves in all three shots are quite live characters not some generic balaclava dude with a coat hanger. Still think that the location/set/background should not have been discolored completely. It would have been hared to light, shoot and style it but if pulled of would make it a lot more lasting graphics I think.

Oh yes, and they are kind of funny and simple in a good way. I like cheap entertainment.

Skulthai United Locks, Homosexuality in Russia is a crime and the punishment is seven years in prison, locked up with the other men. There is a three year waiting list.

Skulthai United Locks: Maze

What can I say; it’s nice, simple and clear. This proves you can take a simple old idea and breathe some life in to it on a good day. But use of the maze in the mechanism can be interpreted as complexity of operation not security… but than it’s just a door know, use the key, how hard can that be.

On a totally unrelated subject. Did you know Getty images has been sold off for 2.4 billion? I hope the new owners take good care of their photographers/Illustrators/Contributors.

Marithé + François Girbaud, There’s no half-singing in the shower, you’re either a rock star or an opera diva.

Marithe + Francois Girbaud: Double page, women
“No more seasons”

Marithé + François Girbaud: Double page, men

Marithé + François Girbaud: Kid

I really have no idea what is going on here, but I don’t really care. I love the visuals anyway, a little strange but not boring. Allot more fun that another boring condom ad. They look a bit editorial too. Actually it looks to me like Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair cover but on acid.

Cool locations and styling, fun looking characters/models and general “I do not give a shit if you don’t get it” attitude. Like I said good… whatever, interesting …yea. I do think if Annie did this, she would light it a little smoother, perhaps more interesting. Well actually probably her team would.
