ANPE (National Agency for Employment): Twenty nuns with machine guns.

Pixel art is not new or edgy but here it makes a nice ad. It’s somewhat cute and also were is “where is Waldo” or the Mad comics by Sergio Aragonés at the same time. You know the ones that have a million cool things happening at the same time at it take quite some time to parse. They use to be so entertaining, I wonder how that would go now with all the overstimulation form the internet we are use to now.

SHS Teen Clothes, Turtles can breathe through their butts

Wonderful idea. These kids do come across as bitchy bastards with elephant guns. A little gossip girl I think. Hello kitty and unicorn skulls are awesome.

Great Idea, awesome props, cool attitude, well put together. The girl has that innocence and bitchenes without neighbourhood slut sort of a thing.

Weird and wonderful. I like it!

By the way check out another ad campaign from Riccardo shot for SHS:

Steimatzky, Read more

Simple and thanks to a copy also funny. The photography is a bit bluh, but that’s ok, quite Beetlejuice with the head shrinking dust part. Maybe not great for winning awards but good for the client, oops what does the client have to do with anything right?

Quite easy to get the point with just a glance.

Adidas: Dogsled-riding is a sport that is relaxing as well as fragrant.

Adidas: Gold, 6Adidas: Gold, 4 Adidas: Gold, 3Adidas: Gold, 5Adidas: Gold, 2Adidas: Gold, 1

Nice warm and a little emotional feel to this campaign. I generally don’t believe one can easily do feeling with stills. Things like warm or cold backlight flair helps maybe. These do something similar, but I like it.

Still overall the images are a little bland, perhaps it ok because recently everyone is trying to add detail, in this manner it is a little refreshing I think.

The copy I think is trying to inspire emotion a little too hard. We know that getting gold is hard work don’t rub it in and hope we all feel ballsier about it. Anyway I am of to have some coffee for dinner.

ESPN: Olympic Games. For the few good ones.

ESPN: Not good enough for Beijing, 3 ESPN: Not good enough for Beijing, 2 ESPN: Not good enough for Beijing, 1

Ok, just to get to the point and over the really fantastic visuals the ad means something like: “If you are special or unusually gifted, you are not good enough to participate in Olympic Games, because these games are just for the UBER good, the best, better then you are “.

I really do love the photos, good work there I think. Great concepts also, funny but not stupid. I even like the copy/tagline. The only danger with these sometimes if the viewer may not get the concept right away and hence instead of feeling stupid (hey I did right away, the great photography kept me a second from flipping) with project this on to the advertiser. Oh well we can’t have everything boring vanilla again like Stamford Wives.

Travel Planet 24, A difference of taste in jokes is a great strain on the affections. -T.S. Eliot

Travel Planet 24: Santorini
“You travel with your mind everyday. Wouldn’t it be nice if your body could follow?”

Travel Planet 24: Paris

Good idea, creepy execution.

I think using a ‘brain’ has become such a cliché concept in the creative world next to light bulb. There must be other ways of graphically representing the ‘mind’ that is not brains.

This reminds me of that Futuarama episode called “The Day the Earth Stood Stupid” where Fry on Nibbler’s home planet is told he has to fight it out with the giant leader brain because Fry is too stupid to be controlled by it. Or some such thing.

The photography was all soured from Getty Images. Emm, I have some shots on Getty

ANCAP, A rich man’s joke is always funny

ANCAP: Pole

“Beware of cars with less than four stars. ancap.com.au Crash testing for safety.”

ANCAP: Barricade

You know with ‘all that’ heavy warm vignette it looks a bit like some wedding album. The content really saves this set.

So my take on this is “we should all run from cars” right? Anyway good work quite funny.

ANCAP: Run

ANCAP is The Australasian New Car Assessment Program
