Melbourne therapists have come under fire for using prostitutes in counselling sessions with patients.
The controversial practice, with mostly male patients, is called sex surrogacy and uses touch and sex to treat sexual problems including erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, low self-esteem and body-image issues.
But it has been denounced as glorified prostitution involving sex practice sessions in exchange for a hefty fee.
Surrogacy can be much pricier, costing about $600 a session.
