Metro / Aftonbladet: D2D Mummy and Zombie
From early morning till late at night, we’ll keep your competitors full of fright. We’re talking about Sweden’s most horrifying media package. A terrifying deal where you reach 4,2 million Swedes. With formats such as the Chainsaw, the Mummy and the Beast, we call this package Dawn till Dusk. Oh my god, we’ve created a monster. Visit www.d2d.se if you dare
I don’t really get the point of this ad campaign at a first glance before looking at what D2D does but this is a seriously cool exercise in illustration. A great play on B rate Hollywood and kitsch horror. With a little dash of scary teen movie for the clean, preppy look and well you get …this, a really cool set of illustrations.
The copy seems really bad but perhaps this is a direct translation and it sounds ok in Swedish, I don’t know, it is still really long. They really expect people to spend their time looking at this ad to get the detail and copy.
In reality I think there is nothing clever about the idea only the execution and that is a very good for a print ad is not a least a good place to start.

I saw a movie named Dusk Till Dawn with bar scenes of everyone turning into a Werewolf or some other monster type. Just when a character would turn away from one monster, the person he turned to for help would also turn into a monster. As for the victim always being portrayed as a woman, the modern version of a woman (me) would be whipping out her own chainsaw or whatever. But unlike movie monsters would only do it in defense. I’m so nice. hehe. But in retaliation to being attacked well let me admit I own a handy little stun gun and wouldn’t be the victim for long. Enough about me, I like the photography but lets focus more on males as victims. Any females agree with me out there?

Photography good but the target audience must be teenagers. I guess they’re getting higher allowances these days. Are they buying movie tickets, I don’t have time to check the product if that’s not it.

To Jeana,
You wanted me to see this. Well love, I’ve seen it. What next, movies, popcorn?

I think the images will really draw in an audience. They are creepy but if you like that sort of thing you will be intrigued.
