Agency: Vatson&Vatson/Y&R, Tallinn, Estonia
A mobile phone company ad that featuring a cartoon Jesus who winks and gives a thumbs up gesture has been banned for mocking Christians.
Phones 4 U said it was trying to show “a light-hearted, positive and contemporary image” of Christianity.
But Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority said the ad’s depiction of Jesus with the text “miraculous” deals gave the impression that they were mocking and belittling core Christian beliefs.
